William Bancroft
Initially trained as an accountant I have been involved in education since 1983. I was a teacher then head of history followed by posts as head of sixth form and deputy head teacher. From 2000 to 2018 I was head of four secondary schools across the North West ranging from leafy suburbia, deep rurality, seaside deprivation and latterly an international state boarding school. My particular interests have been in the areas of curriculum development, post 16 and school re-organisation. I was a local leader of education and supported several schools in challenging circumstances. I am now mostly retired, undertaking some freelance work reviewing schools for an education journal as well as governance of a grammar state boarding school and a multi academy trust.
