Simon Riley
I have held a number of senior leadership positions, including Principal at Caedmon College Whitby, and other secondary Headship positions across Yorkshire.
All my previous teaching experience, starting in 1990, has been in 3 large 11-18 high schools in the Leeds local authority.
I have previous experience of governance, serving as a governor at a primary school that built upon their existing federation arrangements to form a multi-academy trust.
My academic background at university straddled both mathematics and physics, although for most of my career I have taught mathematics to all ages and abilities, including GCSE and A Level, only occasionally having to dust down the physics books!
Originally born and bred in Liverpool, I made the wrong choice of football team when it came to winning trophies over the years. I am married (to a Year 6 teacher) and have 3 children, one in Year 13, one at university and one who has graduated. It'll feel strange, for the first time this century, to soon have no children at school.
